Russian forward of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin scored a goal against the New Jersey Devils in a match of the NHL regular season.

Ovechkin scored in the 50th minute, making the score 3:3. Earlier in the game, he provided an assist. The Washington captain broke the goalless streak, which amounted to nine regular-season matches.

This is the 40-year-old Russian’s 912th goal in the NHL regular season (a league record) and the 989th goal including the playoffs.

Wayne Gretzky’s record for goals in an NHL game, including playoff games, is 1,016 goals.
