Next to your favorites. Czech national team announced the composition of the 2026 Olympics
The Czech national ice hockey team announced its bid for the 2026 Olympic Games. Unlike Sweden and Finland, where there are almost no players from outside the NHL, the Czechs will bring in a sufficient number of hockey players from European teams.
The squad includes strong forwards Ondzej Palat, Martin Necas, David Pastrnak and Tomas Hertl.
Interestingly, there was also room in the squad for 40-year-old striker Roman Cervenka, who was captain at the last World Championship.
The Czech Republic is not seen as a favorite, but is among the second group of candidates for the award.
Goalkeepers: Dostal (Anaheim), Weimelka (Utah), Vladarz (Philadelphia).
defenders: Gudas (Anaheim), Kempny (Brynas), Spacek (University of Iowa), Gronek (Vancouver), Rutta (Servette), Tihacek (Karpät), Šimek (Liberec), Kundratek (Tršinec).
Forward: Palat (New Jersey), Hertl (Vegas), Necas (Colorado), Kubalik (Zug), Pastrnak, Zaha (both Boston), Fleck (Brno), Cervenka, Sedlak (both Pardubice), Kempf (Vancouver), Kasche (Litvinov), Faksa (Dallas), Tomaszek (Farjestadt), Stransky (Davos).
The Czech Republic will play in a group with Canada, Switzerland and France.
