One of the most legendary Dinamo fans has passed away
Today, January 6, 2026, the legendary fan of Dynamo Kiev and Sokol Viktor “Iron” Zaglada passed away. He was 62 years old.
He was among those who made the first organized trip to support the Sokol hockey team in the USSR championship match against Moscow Spartak in 1980.
“I was still at school then,” another legendary Kiev fan, Vladimir “Beard” Almashin, who is no longer with us, said of Victor in his book “More than a Game”. – There were mainly students and high school students between the ages of 14-18 among us. Gradually a nucleus formed. On weekends we played football on Trukhanov Island, Pushkin Park or Hidropark. At first, there was no particular opposition from the authorities, but when the movement began to grow, it began to turn… At the end of 1978, the idea of \u200b\u200bcreating a fans’ club to normalize the support process gradually matured in me. Five of us got together and developed a charter and regulations. The implementation of the project became possible only in 1986, after Chernobyl, when a decree bearing Gorbachev’s signature was issued on working with unofficial youth associations.”
Farewell to “Iron” will take place tomorrow, January 7, at 15.30 at the Baykovo cemetery (gathering near the central administrative building).

The Ukrainian hockey championship match took place between the leader Sokol and the foreigner Krizhinka.
The meeting is expected to end in favor of the favorite, the score was 4:0. Sokol also managed to pin down his opponent only in the third period and scored three goals against the opponent.
The match was remembered when Krizhinka’s player Vasily-Yuriy Kachan lost consciousness on the bench. The hockey player was immediately sent to the hospital.
Additionally, the lights went out in the arena four minutes before the end, but the problem was quickly resolved and the match was completed.
Sokol is the leader, 4 points ahead of Kremenchug, with two games remaining against its rival and current champion.

A terrible situation occurred in the middle of the first period of the ongoing Ukrainian hockey championship match between Sokol and Krizhinka Capitals at the ATEK ice rink in Kiev. Krizhinka’s 27-year-old forward Vasily-Yuriy Kachan lost consciousness while on the bench.
Sokol doctor Elizaveta Khimich was the first to help the hockey player, who started this season in Sokol and was a two-time Ukrainian champion with this team. He was later joined by representatives of the ambulance team. At these moments, players, coaches and team staff looked very scared. Yuri’s beloved Elizaveta Ustinina, herself a former hockey player, watched the events in tears.
As a result, Kachan was conscious when he was carried on a stretcher to the ambulance.
We wish Yuri a speedy recovery.
After the first period, Sokol closed the match ahead 1-0. Denis Zherebko scored the only goal.
