The NHL club Pittsburgh Penguins put Russian defenseman Yegor Zamula up for waivers and intends to part with the hockey player, insider Frank Seravalli reports on social networks.

If no team in the league selects Zamula in the draft, Pittsburgh will have the right to terminate his contract and exercise that option.

This is Zamula’s second selection to the waiver draft this season. In December, Philadelphia refused the Russian’s services, after which Pittsburgh agreed to exchange Zamula for 24-year-old striker Philip Tomasino, thereby relieving its payroll.

However, after the exchange, the Penguins sent the Russian to play in the AHL, to which Zamula did not agree.

Zamula played 168 NHL games for Philadelphia from 2020-25 and scored 41 points (8 goals, 33 assists).
