The Washington Capitals hockey players beat the Anaheim Ducks in a home match of the NHL regular season.

The meeting in Washington ended with a score of 7:4. Justin Sourdif scored a hat-trick for the hosts, Russian Alexander Ovechkin scored a double, and Ryan Leonard and John Carlson scored one goal each. For Anaheim, Chris Kreider, Alex Killorn, Jacob Trouba and Beckett Senneke scored.

Ovechkin now has 36 points (17+19) this season, 914 regular season goals in his entire career (an NHL record) and 991 goals including the playoffs. Wayne Gretzky’s record for goals in an NHL game, including playoff games, is 1,016 goals.
