Junior World Hockey Championship. Czech Republic sensationally eliminated Canada and advanced to the final
The second semi-final match of the U-20 World Junior Hockey Championship took place in the elite league.
The Canadian team, which was the favorite against the Czech Republic, lost to the European team with a score of 4:6 and will not win the gold medal once again. A year ago, the Czechs knocked out Klenov at the quarter-final stage.
At the same time, today the Canadians constantly caught up with the opponent throughout the match and the score was equalized in the 58th minute, but then the Czechs scored a goal and gained a decisive advantage.
The Czech national team will play in the final for the first time since 2023. The opponent will be the Swedish team that beat Finland in the penalty shoot-out.
For the first time since 2019, a European team will be champion.
