Vadim Shipachev was the first to reach 1,100 matches in the KHL
Dynamo Minsk forward Vadim Shipachev was the first in history to reach the mark of 1,100 matches in the KHL.
On Tuesday, he took the ice in the Fonbet KHL Championship regular season game against CSKA Moscow. Shipachev has 928 matches in the regular season and 172 in the playoffs.
Shipachev is 38 years old and is the top scorer (998) and assister (684) in the KHL. The striker also ranks second in the list of the best snipers in the league (314), behind Sergei Mozyakin (419).
As a member of the Russian national team, Shipachev won the World Championship and the Olympics. The hockey player also won the Gagarin Cup twice as a member of SKA.
