Gerard Galland will leave the post of head coach of the Shanghai Dragons due to heart problems – media
Canadian Gerard Galland will soon leave the post of head coach of the Shanghai Dragons due to heart problems, reports RG.
At the end of December, Gallan missed the KHL regular season match against SKA St. Petersburg for health reasons, after which he did not appear on the coaching bench. According to the source, the 62-year-old specialist is unable to cope with the physical and organizational demands associated with coaching, including long flights and game management, which makes his return this season increasingly unlikely.
Journalist Pierre Lebrun reports that Galland, after consulting with doctors and the Dragons management, decided not to coach for the rest of the season to focus on his health.
Galland took charge of the Shanghai Dragons before the start of the current season. The team is in ninth place in the Western Conference standings with 43 points.
