SKA beat Lada for the 19th time in a row in KHL matches
St. Petersburg SKA beat Tolyatti Lada (4:3 B) on the road in the Fonbet KHL Championship match.
In regulation time, Marat Khairullin, Matvey Polyakov and Nikita Nedopekin scored for SKA, while Tomas Yurcho, Nikita Setdikov and Riley Savchuk scored for Lada.
The winner was determined in a shootout: Brendan Laipsic scored two shots for the visitors, and Andrey Chivilev scored for Lada.
SKA won the 19th victory over Lada in 19 matches that the teams played among themselves in the KHL. The last time the Togliatti team was stronger than the St. Petersburg team in a head-to-head meeting was in January 2008 (4:0), this happened in the last season of the Super League.
SKA scored 52 points and is in 7th place in the Western Conference, Lada is in 11th place with 30 points.
