Shipachev – about 1000 points in the KHL: “This is commensurate with big victories”
Dynamo Minsk forward Vadim Shipachev said on Match TV that reaching the 1000-point milestone in the KHL can be compared to winning prestigious titles.
On Monday, Dynamo beat Admiral Vladivostok with a score of 2:1 in a home match of the Fonbet KHL Championship, 38-year-old Shipachev scored an assist and became the first in history to surpass the 1,000-point mark in the league.
— What are your emotions after the match?
— So far the impressions are great, I’m very glad that we won today with the arena full. It was a difficult match, but it’s good that we won 2:1, Vadim Moroz scored such a goal and gave me a great gift.
– Is there any relief now?
— While he’s not there yet, I don’t even understand that we won. A couple of hours will pass, and the realization will come. When I come home, my kids and wife will be happy, my friends will write. And so, of course, when every day fans ask about the 1000th point, your head already begins to boil and it becomes a little difficult to play. I am very glad that it worked out, many thanks to my teammates, they are great guys.
— You have won many prestigious titles. What place will this achievement take in your career?
— When you win tournaments, the whole team also tries, of course, any victory is a separate emotional outburst. I think that this achievement is commensurate with such great victories,” Shipachev said on the “Everyone for the Match” program on the Match TV channel.
Shipachev previously played in the KHL for Severstal Cherepovets, SKA St. Petersburg, Dynamo Moscow and Ak Bars Kazan. As part of SKA, the striker became a two-time winner of the Gagarin Cup. Together with the Russian team, Shipachev became an Olympic champion and world champion.
