The head of the Russian Hockey Federation, Vladislav Tretyak, congratulated Dynamo Minsk forward Vadim Shipachev on reaching the 1000-point mark in his KHL career.

On Monday, Dynamo Minsk beat Admiral Vladivostok with a score of 2:1 in a home match of the Fonbet KHL Championship, 38-year-old Shipachev scored an assist and became the first in history to surpass the 1,000-point mark in the league.

A whole generation of boys has already grown up watching Shipachev’s game, who strive to be like one of the smartest and sharpest forwards in our country. Vadim also sets an excellent example of patriotism and readiness to defend the honor of our flag at international tournaments to young people. Shipachev has been playing for the Russian national team since 2010. While wearing the national team jersey, he also achieved outstanding achievements of which he can deservedly be proud. Vadim is an Olympic champion, world champion, winner of silver and bronze awards in the most prestigious competitions. He is also the fourth scorer of the national team in history, the author of very important goals and assists. Shipachev gave an assist in the golden final of the 2014 World Cup, scored against the Americans in the victorious semi-final of the 2015 World Championship, and at the World Championships in Moscow 10 years ago he became the top scorer of our team. His contribution to the success of the team is very great. And he has the right to be no less proud of him than of his numerous goalscoring records at the club level.

Shipachev previously played in the KHL for Severstal Cherepovets, SKA St. Petersburg, Dynamo Moscow and Ak Bars Kazan. As part of SKA, the striker became a two-time winner of the Gagarin Cup. Together with the Russian team, Shipachev became an Olympic champion and world champion.
