Neftekhimik beat Barys with a minimal score in a KHL match
Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik defeated Kazakh Barys in the Fonbet KHL Championship match.
The meeting in Astana ended with the score 1:0 (1:0, 0:0, 0:0). German Tochilkin scored the puck in the sixth minute. Neftekhimik goalkeeper Yaroslav Ozolin stopped 36 shots and kept a clean sheet for the second time this season.
Neftekhimik extended its winning streak to four matches and with 51 points is in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, Barys (37), which suffered its fifth defeat in a row, is in 10th place.
In the next match on Saturday, Nizhnekamsk will play with Sibir in Novosibirsk, and Barys will host CSKA on the same day.
