Islanders goalie Sorokin named second NHL Game Day Star
Russian goalkeeper of the New York Islanders Ilya Sorokin was recognized as the second star of the game day in the NHL regular season, the league’s press service reports.
The Islanders beat Edmonton at home on Thursday, 1-0. Sorokin stopped 35 shots.
Buffalo Sabers forward Tage Thompson was named the first star. The American scored 5 (3+2) points in the match against the Montreal Canadiens (5:3).
The third star was the American forward of the Vegas Golden Knights, Jack Eichel, in the match with the Toronto Maple Leafs (6:5 OT) he gave three assists and scored the winning goal in overtime.
