“Washington” returned Russian Miroshnichenko to the starting lineup after Sourdif’s injury
Russian forward Ivan Miroshnichenko has been transferred to the main roster of the National Hockey League (NHL) Washington Capitals. This was reported by the press service of the capital team.
The decision was made after Canadian Capitals forward Justin Sourdif was sidelined indefinitely with an injury.
During the current season, 21-year-old Miroshnichenko played in the AHL for the Hershey Bears, Washington’s farm club. The Russian missed the beginning of the season due to injury, and then was sent to Hershey to get in shape. On December 20, the forward was called up to the main team, he took part in two matches of the current NHL regular season, did not score any points and was returned to the farm club.
In October, Washington extended the contract with Miroshnichenko for two years. The Russian striker receives 925 thousand dollars a year under the contract.
