Arefiev’s first score in the KHL helped Ak Bars beat Amur
Kazan Ak Bars won an away victory over Khabarovsk Amur (3:0) in the Fonbet KHL Championship match.
Dmitry Katelevsky scored the winning goal 6 seconds before the end of the second period. Semyon Terekhov and Alexander Barabanov also scored in the third period.
22-year-old Ak Bars goalkeeper Maxim Arefiev played his sixth game of the season and the ninth of his KHL career; he stopped 24 shots and kept a clean sheet for the first time in the league.
“Amur” suffered its sixth defeat in the championship in a row. Ak Bars’ winning streak in games against Amur reached four matches.
Kazan takes 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, with 64 points. “Amur” (39) is 9th in the East.
