One of the leaders in the NHL scoring race this season, Leon Draisaitl, received a short-term leave for personal reasons. This was reported by the press service of the National Hockey League.
The Edmonton Oilers forward was given time off to visit a sick family member in his native Germany. He is expected to return to the team at the end of next week. On behalf of Leon, Edmonton called for respect for the hockey player’s personal boundaries.
Draisaitl ranks fifth in the scoring race of the current regular season, scoring 67 (25+42) points in 48 matches. He hasn’t missed a single Edmonton game this season so far.
The Oilers will play on the road against Vancouver on Sunday.
