Pittsburgh forward Evgeni Malkin said that team captain Sidney Crosby still hasn’t lost his motivation.

The Canadian is playing his 21st season in the league, the next match will be Crosby’s 1400th in the regular season.

– I’m very proud of him. And this is not a surprise.

Every year we see what he achieves. He does an amazing job and shows leadership both on the ice and in the locker room.

I support him. I’m still here and he feels it. That’s why he plays well, he definitely wants to be number one,” the NHL press service quotes Malkin as saying.

Crosby, 38, has 53 points (26 goals, 27 assists) in 47 games this season.
