Russian Florida goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky said that San Jose goalkeeper Alex Nedeljkovic acted beyond what was acceptable, so he decided to fight with him.
In the 46th minute of the match, a scuffle broke out at the San Jose goal, during which Nedeljkovic hit Florida striker Evan Rodriguez several times. Bobrovsky stood up for his partner and came to fight with the Sharks goalkeeper.
“I thought it was too much.” He acted beyond the bounds of what was acceptable. “I decided to intervene and let him understand this,” journalist Jameson Olive quotes Bobrovsky.
Bobrovsky and Nedeljkovic each received a five-minute penalty for fighting and two minutes for leaving the gate. San Jose won with a score of 4:1, Bobrovsky stopped 24 shots.
