Teams of the Czech Republic and Switzerland won the opening matches of the Ice Hockey World Championship-2022
The Czech Republic team defeated the team of Great Britain in the first match of the group stage of the 2022 Ice Hockey World Championship.
The meeting ended with the score 5:1. Goals for the Czechs were scored by Jakub Flek, David Jiříček, Jiri Chernoch and Matej Blumel, who scored a brace. Ben Lake scored for the British.
The Czech Republic is second in Group B, while the UK is seventh.
In another match of the day, the Swiss national team defeated the Italian team – 5:2. The Italians are in seventh position in Group A, the Swiss are in second.
The 2022 World Cup takes place in the Finnish cities of Tampere and Helsinki from May 13 to 29. The Russian and Belarusian teams do not participate in the tournament by the decision of the international federation.
