Forward “Toronto” Marner was the victim of an armed theft the day after being eliminated from the NHL playoffs

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitchell Marner was the victim of an armed carjacking, according to the Toronto Sun.
According to the source, the incident occurred on May 16 at 19:46 local time near one of the cinemas in Etobicoke, the western district of Toronto. Marner, who was driving a Range Rover, and his friend were attacked by three masked robbers who were armed with two pistols and a knife.
It is noted that the criminals did not recognize the hockey player. As a result of the incident, the Canadian was not physically injured.
On May 15, Toronto lost 1-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the deciding match of the first round of the NHL playoff series. The series ended with a score of 3-4. 25-year-old Marner scored 8 (2 + 6) points in the playoffs with a +3 utility indicator.
