The hockey agent suggested that Ovechkin would return to Russia only for a political future, and he had nothing to do in the KHL

A well-known hockey agent in an interview with Match TV assessed the likelihood of Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin returning to the KHL.

– Evgeni Malkin in the KHL is ridiculous. Speaking from a business point of view. But I can imagine that the same Alexander Ovechkin will return to Russia. When will he follow his political future, if he is offered the position of Minister of Sports. Purely for this. And so, there is nothing to do in the KHL.

Malkin is the same. It could be a political story. Now in Russia in this difficult time they will find any money to show that one of the hockey players from the Putin Team left America to raise the Russian league. If Malkin, from this point of view, decides to return, then he will be entered into the KHL under any ceiling. But it will no longer be a business,” the agent said.

Malkin’s contract with Pittsburgh ends at the end of the season. The forward will become an unrestricted free agent.
