American fans left unflattering and sometimes openly hostile comments about the forward of “Washington” Alexander Ovechkin under the material in it in the social network.
The material belongs to the Washington Post journalist Barry Svrluge.
“Alex Ovechkin should be on the sanctions list,” wrote one user.
He has been playing professionally in the USA for half his life. He should have done better,” said another.
“It’s time to capture Ovechkin’s megayacht,” a third is sure.
On May 18, it was reported that Ovechkin had returned to Russia to join his family after Washington lost 2-4 to Florida in the first round of the Stanley Cup.
The day before, Ovechkin awarded Dynamo Moscow with bronze medals of the Russian Football Championship. The team claimed silver, but lost to Sochi and remained third.
The 36-year-old forward scored 6 points (1 puck + 5 assists) in 6 games in the playoffs. In the NHL regular season, Ovechkin took part in 77 matches, scored 50 goals and gave 40 assists.
In 2018, Alexander became the owner of the Stanley Cup. Since then, his “Washington” regularly eliminated from the NHL playoffs in the first round.
