The Swiss team in shootouts beat the German team in the final match, the seventh round of the group stage of the 2022 Ice Hockey World Championship.

The meeting ended with a score of 4:3, the winning shootout was scored by Niko Hishir.

The Swiss finished first in Group A with victories in all games at this stage of the tournament. The Germans finished second in the table and also secured their way to the next round.

In a parallel meeting within group B the national team of Latvia has conceded to a command of Sweden. The game ended in favor of the Swedes with a score of 1:0, the puck was scored by William Nylander.

The Swedish national team with 18 points took first place in group B. The Latvian team (8) suffered their fourth defeat in the tournament and earlier lost their chances of reaching the playoffs ahead of schedule.
