Ovechkin revealed plans for a further stay in Russia

Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin spoke about his plans to stay in Russia after being eliminated from the NHL playoffs.

The Capitals team lost to the Florida Flames in the first round series of the Stanley Cup with a score of 2-4. The Russian in the playoffs of the 2021/22 season scored six points (1 puck + 5 assists). Ovechkin returned to Russia from the US on May 18.

– Are you going to your friend Alexander Semin at the end of June for a farewell match in Krasnoyarsk?

– Yes, I will. I will definitely be with Sam. And I know that Krasnoyarsk is a hockey region. Once Sasha and I went to the forest, a remote taiga, a hut, next to it was a store. And we were recognized even there!

— What are your plans for the summer? When will you start training?

I think we will start preparations at the end of June. We will work gradually. And then we will fruitfully approach the training process in July and August.

– You usually start preparing for the season in August.

I started in mid July. And now it will be almost a month earlier. Why? I want to change something, – quotes Ovechkin “Match TV”.

Ovechkin recorded 90 points (50+40) in 77 games in the 2021/22 regular season.
