SKA forward Matvey Michkov spoke about his attitude towards Tampa striker Nikita Kucherov’s game.

– You managed to play in the MHL, KHL, youth and national teams this season.

– I knew they would give me a chance to play for SKA and I had to use it, show my best, justify the trust of the coaching team and the entire management. I think I managed to cope, I was able to score goals and assists. Besides.

– On February 28, you broke Nikita Kucherov’s 11-year record and became the U-17 top scorer in the MHL. Have you set yourself the goal of outrunning current Tampa?

– The agent threw out the information that there is such a record. I tried to help the team, I wanted to score in every game to be useful, but I also wanted to break the record.

Was Nikita Kucherov one of your childhood idols? Or did they look for someone else?

– As a kid, I just followed different players, but I watched KHL most of the time, especially since the matches were shown on TV. I knew all the teams, all the players. While still living in Perm, I went to the Molot-Prikamye matches in the VHL, I wanted to be like the guys there, – RIA Novosti quotes Michkov.
