The Finnish national ice hockey team defeated the Slovakian team in the quarterfinals of the home world championship.
The Finns won the match in Tampere with a score of 4:2 (1:2, 1:0, 2:0). Marco Anttila scored two goals for the winners, Sakari Manninen and Saku Mäenalanen also scored. Adam Sikora and Pavol Regenda scored for Slovakia.
Finland’s opponent in the semi-finals will be determined later.
