Former Avangard President Maxim Sushinsky commented on a statement by American journalist Josh Yohe, who previously said that Washington captain Alexander Ovechkin would not be able to match Pittsburgh’s forward Sidney Crosby, even if he surpassed Wayne Gretzky’s record for goals in the NHL.
“I don’t know who that is. Sports journalist? Ovechkin proved everything to everyone, he doesn’t have to do anything. Yohe, let him keep his opinion to himself. Maybe it’s harsh, but it’s true. For us, Ovechkin will be a legend for those who follow hockey and understand something in this sport.
I think the attitude towards Crosby in America is worse than towards Ovechkin in Russia. Crosby is deprived of the fact that he is popular in one country, and Alexander is known everywhere. And I think Ovechkin has more fans.
We hope Sasha will beat Gretzky’s record. He has every chance, and whether he can do it – we’ll see, – quotes the words of Sushinsky Sport24.

The third day of competitions at the Junior World Hockey Championship held in the USA has ended.
After defeating Denmark with a score of 6:2, the Finnish team also defeated Latvia with a score of 8:0. The Latvian team, which was only defeated by Canada in extra time, did not have the strength to cope with another strong opponent.
The Finnish team outscored its opponent with 41:7 (an anti-record at the World Championships – six shots per game).
Finnish hockey players lead the group with 6 points, while Latvia is in second place with one point.

The third day of matches in the elite league of the U-20 World Youth Hockey Championship has started.
The Swedish team, which started the tournament with a difficult victory against Slovakia, defeated the Swiss team with a score of 3-2 today. And again there were difficulties for one of the favorites.
The Swedes lost 1:2 but scored three goals in the third period to win.
While Sweden and the USA are leaders in the group with six points, Switzerland is in last place with two losses.
