Russian national hockey team risks missing the next hockey season – Tardif
President of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Luc Tardif said that the Russian team will miss the next season in all tournaments under the auspices of the organization if the situation between the Russian Federation and Ukraine does not change soon.
“If the situation between Russia and Ukraine does not change in the near future, the Russian national hockey team will be forced to miss the next season in all competitions under the auspices of the IIHF,” RIA Novosti Sport quotes Tardif.
On May 27, the IIHF announced the suspension of the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship. The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) disagreed with this decision, saying that it had no legal basis.
