Tampa Bay head coach John Cooper said that Russian goaltender Andrei Vasilevsky was not to blame for the team’s massive defeat in the first match of the Stanley Cup semi-final playoff series against the New York Rangers.
The meeting ended with the score 6:2. Vasilevsky repelled 28 shots.
– Vasilevsky is not at all guilty of missed goals. We could put two goalkeepers at once in the goal, but we would still have missed, ”Joe Smith, a journalist, quotes Cooper on his Twitter.
The Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-four series. The second match of the confrontation is scheduled for June 4.
