The general manager of Dynamo Moscow told what positions in the club need to be strengthened
Dynamo general manager Alexei Sopin spoke about the plans of the Moscow club to form the squad for the next season.
– Conducting a transfer campaign is, in principle, an ongoing process that lasts until December 27th. Now we are preparing for the season, and at the moment it is rather difficult to talk about the percentage of how much the team is completed. But if you name the number, then probably we are staffed by 70-80%
We are looking for several forwards – central and winger. There are fewer concerns in terms of defense and goalkeeping, but there are questions in terms of attack. The situation with foreign players is not clear – they will come or not. This moment remains open and difficult for us. For now, we are concentrating on Russian hockey players and continue to be on the lookout.
Are we missing a shooting guard to play on the power play? We are considering foreign defenders, because there are simply no free Russian hockey players of this role. Despite the fact that we are talking at the beginning of June, there is still time before the season and even before the start of the pre-season, so work in this direction is underway. Somewhere we would like to get another right-handed defender. But in general, our players should also reach a new level. The same Mironov in the season before last came out in the majority and scored a lot of points. We also took Martynov, and Kirill Gotovets can play such a role, ”Championship” quotes Sopin.
Last season, Dynamo Moscow took 4th place in the standings of the Western Conference of the KHL according to the results of the regular season. In the semi-finals of the conference, the “white-blue” lost to CSKA in the series with a score of 0-4.
