Dynamo Moscow general manager Alexei Sopin admitted that the club was the first to show interest in the son of Dynamo Minsk general director Maxim Sushko.
As a result of the exchange, Dynamo Minsk acquired the rights to goalkeeper Ivan Zhigalov.
– How did you manage to exchange Sushko from Dynamo Minsk, because the head of the Belarusian club is the striker’s father? As Sergei Anatolyevich Sushko himself told me, we were the first to show interest in Maxim. Even when he was in North America, both I and Alexei Nikolaevich Kudashov talked to him – and he was very pleased. Plus, he remembered that as a child he went to Dynamo Moscow.
Maybe it will even be useful for him to play not under the supervision of his father, but in another city – to change the picture and get out of the comfort zone. Therefore, he decided that Dynamo would be the best option to continue his career, Sopin told the Championship.
Sushko is 23 years old, last season he played for Philadelphia’s farm club in the AHL – Lehigh Valley Phantoms, played 63 matches in the team, in which he scored 17 (10 + 7) points.
