Dynamo Riga head coach Vladimir Krikunov told Sport Day by Day that 3v3 hockey has good prospects for existence in the program of the Olympic Games.

— I think the new has the right to exist. Futsal has moved away from football. Maybe mini-hockey will be. Playing 3v3 hockey requires special physical qualities, such as stamina. It’s the same as in 2v2 volleyball. Why can’t there be mini-hockey if there is mini-football, volleyball, and mini-handball will soon be?

Do you think this sport deserves to be included in the Olympic program?

– Classic hockey, of course, will be the main one. But why not try? Moreover, those who failed to play 5 on 5 will get a chance. Still, the amount of information is much larger and not everyone has the ability to process it. And 3 by 3 is still easier in this regard, – said Krikunov.

From June 12 to June 14, the FHR 3v3 hockey championship is held for the first time. 16 teams participate in the tournament. Tournament matches are broadcast on Match TV, Match! Country” and “Match! Planet”.
