NHL ‘back to normal’ after coronavirus League wants to host World Cup
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said the league has essentially overcome all the effects of the coronavirus and has already reached record profit levels.
After 2-2.5 difficult years, we feel normal. Moreover, we reach record profit figures at the end of the season. “Clubs are stable, finances are in order,” Bettman said.
In addition, the NHL wants to hold the Ice Hockey World Cup in 2024, which has not happened since 2016. The World Cup takes place during a pause in the NHL so all teams can assemble the strongest squads.
In 2016, Canada, USA, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Russia, European team and North American team participated in the World Cup.
The NHL aims to bring all the strong teams back together.
