President of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) Alexei Morozov told Match TV that the KHL has no legal grounds not to register the contract of Avangard Omsk striker Reed Boucher if the document meets the requirements of the regulations and legislation.
Bush on Saturday signed a one-season deal with Avangard. In February, the 28-year-old forward left Yaroslavl Lokomotiv. The hockey player, who became the owner of the Gagarin Cup with Avangard, was sentenced in the United States to four years of probation and one year of probation in the case of a relationship with a minor in 2011.
– The KHL has no legal grounds to refuse to register Bushe’s contract with the club if the document complies with the requirements of the regulations and legislation. The League condemns any form of violence, but at the same time stands for the observance of all legal norms. The employer in this situation is the club, so the ethical part of the issue is on its side, Morozov told Match TV.
Last season, Boucher scored 27 points (12 goals + 15 assists) in 46 games of the KHL regular season.
