Shesterkin admitted that he will soon become a father
The Russian goalkeeper of the New York Rangers Igor Shesterkin commented on the victory in the nomination for the Vezina Trophy prize (the best goaltender of the 2021/2022 season in the NHL) and admitted that he would soon become a father.
— It’s a pleasure to play for such a club, just an indescribable feeling. All this was my dream. I want to say thank you to the fans, my parents and the leadership of the Rangers. And, of course, many thanks for supporting my beautiful wife. Unfortunately she couldn’t be here with me today as we are expecting a baby. Amazing year. Thanks to all! – Shesterkin quotes Forever Blues Shirts.
In the regular season of the NHL season 2021/22, Shesterkin played 53 games, in six of which he kept a clean sheet.
Previously, the owners of the Vezina Trophy among Russians were Sergey Bobrovsky (twice) and Andrey Vasilevsky.
