6 teams are planning to participate. FHU considering new ice hockey championship
Yuriy Kirichenko, head of the sports department of the Ukrainian Ice Hockey Federation, said that the FHU plans to organize the 2022/23 season.
No details so far, but 6 teams are ready to participate.
“We have a verbal agreement with the leaders of at least six teams. We expect all three winners of the last tournament to play in the championship – Sokol Kyiv, Kremenchuk and Dnipro Kherson. We are also waiting for the emergence of new teams. Negotiations are underway with the leadership of several cities, as well as representatives of the business world interested in financing hockey clubs. ”
“Of course, due to the difficult financial situation in the country, no one has yet guaranteed their participation in the championship. So far, no one has had a big illusion about the interest in the funding of teams from a large number of sponsors.
“Many of our hockey partners in current realities have completely suspended their activities or are surviving,” Kirichenko said.
