Hockey player Fedotov detained in St. Petersburg, he is suspected of evading the army – media
Hockey goalie Ivan Fedotov, who in May signed a rookie contract with the Philadelphia Flyers NHL club, was detained in St. Petersburg, Fontanka.ru reports.
Earlier, the publication reported that a request to find a 25-year-old athlete in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region came from the military prosecutor’s office, where he is considered an evader from the army.
– Operatives of the criminal investigation department met Fedotov in Kupchino at the exit from the ice arena and suggested that he go to the military registration and enlistment office. Fedotov did not argue, the text says.
On Friday, the hockey player answered a call from a Match TV correspondent, but did not comment on the information about the detention.
Fedotov played for CSKA last season and won the Gagarin Cup with the team.
