The goalkeeper of the Russian national hockey team and Philadelphia, Ivan Fedotov, was specially frightened by the story with the military registration and enlistment office, the well-known coach Vladimir Krikunov told Match TV.

On Friday, 25-year-old Fedotov was detained on suspicion of evading military service. The hockey player asked for medical assistance at the assembly point of the military registration and enlistment office, after which he was taken to the Botkin Infectious Diseases Hospital. Then the player was sent for an additional examination to the military medical academy, and then to the naval hospital. In May, the winner of the Gagarin Cup as part of the Moscow club signed a contract with Philadelphia.

“I don’t think that Fedotov will go to jail and the case will even go to court,” Vladimir Krikunov believes. – CSKA has already done such things in the past, however, for a long time already.

– Does CSKA still have such close ties with the Ministry of Defense? It seems that the sponsors of the club have been different for a long time.

— CSKA can do anything in our league.

– Is there at least a small chance that Fedotov will still fly to Philadelphia this summer?

– I don’t think. He will play here next year. And then he leaves. If they initially wanted to let him go, there would be no history at all.

– They took Fedotov too harshly. Well, which of Ivan is a criminal?

– Yes, this is on purpose to scare you a lot at first. And then they will say: here you have the only way out in this situation, the army club is called. In the old days, Fedotov could still be secretly taken abroad. But now no one will do it. Times are not right.

On May 7, it became known that Fedotov moved to Philadelphia, signing a contract for a year. Last season, the goalkeeper played for CSKA and won the 2022 Gagarin Cup with the team.

Storm hockey club announced its decision to suspend participation in the Ukrainian Championship. The Odessa team had not come to the Krizhinka match before.

At the same time, Storm denied that the issue was related to financial problems and expressed distrust of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation.

Statement from HC Storm

“Due to systematic violation of the principles of equality and justice in competitions, Shtor hockey club expressed its distrust in the leadership of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation and decided to suspend its participation in the Ukrainian Championship.”

There was already a situation this season when Krizhinka suspended its participation in the championship due to referee problems.
