Kozhevnikov believes that Nichushkin deserved an eight-year contract with Colorado

Two-time Olympic champion Alexander Kozhevnikov appreciated the eight-year contract of the Colorado Avalanche with Russian striker Valery Nichushkin.

The total amount of the agreement, according to unofficial data, is $49 million.

– I’m just happy for Nichushkin. We should all be happy for him, because he deserved this contract with his perseverance, hard work and faith on the part of the managers. Is the contract too long? This is Valera’s decision: without his consent, such a period would not have happened. Only after three years it can be exchanged. So for three years he can safely play in Colorado and show his game, ”Championship” quotes Kozhevnikov.

In the regular season ended, the striker played 62 matches, in which he scored 25 goals and made 27 assists. In 20 playoff games he has 15 points (9+6). Nichushkin as part of the Colorado won the Stanley Cup.
