Honored Master of Sports, coach Alexander Yudin commented on the arrival of Sergei Zubov, Evgeny Koreshkov and Vladimir Yurzinov to the SKA hockey coaching staff.
SKA on Tuesday, July 12, presented the composition of the club’s headquarters for the upcoming season. Zubov and Koreshkov became assistant coaches, Valery Bragin and Yurzinov became advisers.
– I think that SKA has become stronger this summer: it has strengthened both the squad and the coaching staff. The arrival of Zubov and Koreshkov is a serious strengthening. The main thing in the coaching staff is experience and stability, and here SKA coaches can give odds to anyone. In all, they won six Gagarin Cups, two Stanley Cups, several Olympics. But the main thing is that SKA managed to maintain the structure and all the main coaches, and also replenished with experienced specialists. Zubov previously proved himself to be of high quality both in SKA, and in Sochi, and in Dynamo Riga, with whom he went to the playoff zone. Koreshkov works effectively with the alignment of attacking actions and also has a lot of experience, including victorious. Inviting these coaches is a smart step from the SKA leadership. I am sure that they will come to the court. Vladimir Yurzinov will also help the team with his wisdom. He knows everything about hockey, his advice is listened to, and his experience can be envied. Vladimir Vladimirovich will definitely not be a nominal adviser – I have no doubt that he will be 100% involved in the work of the coaching staff, ”Championship” quotes Yudin.
SKA last season lost to CSKA Moscow in the final of the Western Conference of the KHL with a score of 3-4 in the series.
