“Radulov will have a great season at Ak Bars” – Gimaev

Hockey expert Sergei Gimaev Jr. shared his expectations from forward Alexander Radulov’s performance at Ak Bars in the upcoming season.

On July 14, Ak Bars officially confirmed the transfer of Radulov. The contract with the 36-year-old striker was signed for two years. Last season, he played in the NHL for Dallas, played 74 games and scored 22 points (4+18).

– How do you like the Ak Bars link Kagarlitsky – Shipachev – Radulov?

– Shipachev is the best center forward in the KHL, if we take effective actions. Radulov is one of the best Russian hockey players in general. They already played together in the Russian national team. Kagarlitsky played with Shipachev for quite a long time, they scored a lot of points. I think this link will be effective. Now Ak Bars has four top KHL scorers from active players – Radulov, Zaripov, Shipachev and Kagarlitsky.

– Leonid Weisfeld said that the signing of Radulov is a risk, because the decline in veterans can happen unexpectedly.

– There is always a risk, regardless of whether the player is young or old. No one is immune from injury. Ak Bars has a fairly long bench and there are players who can replace Radulov if he suddenly starts to miss matches. So that won’t be a problem. I think he will have a great season. In general, the offensive line is the strong side of Ak Bars. Oleg Znarka has a lot of options for different combinations and combinations. We have already said about the top three, let’s not forget about Semenov, Voronkov, Galiev, Zaripov, Petrov, Galimov and so on, RB Sport quoted Gimaev as saying.
