One of the top scorers in the NHL last season signed a contract with Florida Flames for $76 million

American hockey player Matthew Tkachuk moved from the Calgary Flames to the Florida Panthers, according to the website of the American NHL club.

The forward signed an eight-year agreement with the new team. According to media reports, Tkachuk will receive $76 million over the years of the contract.

Tkachuk was traded to Calgary for Jonathan Huberdeau, Cole Schwindt, Mackenzie Wigar and a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

Last season, Tkachuk became eighth in the NHL regular season leading scorers list, scoring 104 points (42 goals and 62 assists) in 82 games. In 12 playoff meetings, the American hockey player scored 10 points (4 + 6).

Earlier, Tkachuk did not sign a new contract with Calgary. According to media reports, the striker was offered an eight-year agreement with an average annual salary of $11 million.
