“A great success for St. Petersburg management” – Yudin on Yashkin’s transfer to SKA

Coach Alexander Yudin appreciated the transfer of striker Dmitry Yashkin to SKA St. Petersburg, noting that reaching an agreement with a high-level legionnaire speaks of the successful work of the club’s management.

Earlier on Monday, the Czech hockey player of Russian origin signed a one-year contract with the St. Petersburg team.

– The signing of such a player as Yashkin is a great success for the St. Petersburg management. It’s no secret that now it is extremely difficult to conclude a contract with a legionnaire of this level. You can recruit average North Americans from the AHL, but Peter clearly does not need such. Yashkin has experience in the KHL, he does not need to adapt to the league, and everyone already knows about performance – more than 60 points for two seasons in a row.

I know that several top clubs applied for him, and SKA proved to be the most convincing. Partners for Yashkin in St. Petersburg will definitely be selected no worse than he had at Dynamo. A powerful and scoring player will be useful to any team, and there are many new promising players in St. Petersburg now. It will be very interesting to watch SKA in the new season, – Yudin is quoted as saying by the “Championship”.

Yashkin played for Dynamo Moscow from 2019 to 2021.

In total, Yashkin played 133 matches in the KHL and scored 137 points (77 + 60) with a utility indicator of +67. The Czech forward spent the past season in the NHL with Arizona. Due to a lower body injury, he played 12 games in the regular season, in which he gave 1 assist.
