“They said in Washington that I didn’t come in the best shape” – hockey player Trineev

Striker Bogdan Trineev told how Washington assessed his physical form and noted his efforts in a team game.

In May, the 20-year-old forward signed a three-year rookie contract with the Capitals. In mid-July, he returned to Dynamo Moscow, where he will play on loan next season.

“They said I didn’t come in the best shape. That you need to work more on “physics”. The guys in the farm club are usually bigger than me. I tried to play correctly, for the team. They noticed it. They called me to training camps, where they will already work with me. And the prospect, they say, is.

– But this summer, it turns out that you are missing the camp of “Washington”.

– The clubs communicate with each other and they know better when it is better for me to go to the Washington camp, and when to spend the preseason with Dynamo. The second option is now a priority,” Trineev told Sport24.

According to him, after being in the NHL club system, he “changed his views a little and saw what he should strive for.”

– Didn’t they treat you as a temporary worker in the club (Dynamo)? Like, the lease will end, and sooner or later he will leave for the NHL, why bother with him.

“I definitely didn’t feel that way. The attitude is the same. I was told at Dynamo last season that there was an agreement with Washington that after signing the contract I would spend the next season in Russia. It was clear that I would return on loan, – said the hockey player.

Trineev was selected by the Washington Capitals in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, 117th overall. Last season, the striker played 20 games for Dynamo Moscow in the KHL regular season and playoffs and provided one assist.
