Canadian goalkeeper of Metallurg Edward Pasquale said that he received offers from NHL clubs, but the athlete decided to stay in Russia.
On June 1, Pasquale moved from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl to Magnitogorsk.
– Initially, I expected to stay in Yaroslavl. But they have announced that they do not plan to use legionnaires. The agent said that several clubs are interested in me. As you can see, I played well against Magnitogorsk (laughs), I like the arena here, there are several guys I know, plus three more Canadians, the goalkeeping coach speaks English… Everything coincided.
In Russia, they treat me very well. I like it here. If I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t be here, right? I had options for returning to my homeland – offers from NHL clubs. But I rejected them in order to stay in Russia,” the press service of Metallurg quoted Pasquale as saying.
Earlier in the KHL, Pasquale also played for Kazakhstan’s Barys.
