Two-time world champion Zherdev did not fit Dynamo Minsk
Forward Nikolai Zherdev was unable to pass the tryout at the Minsk hockey club Dynamo.
On July 25, the 37-year-old hockey player signed a trial contract with the Belarusian club, in a friendly match against Severstal (2:3 on shootouts) he made an assist.
– Zherdev did not go through the screening in Dynamo Minsk and does not fly (with the team to the tournament) to Sochi, – said a representative of the Match TV club.
Zherdev was selected by Columbus with the fourth overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He has 421 games and 261 points (115+146) in the NHL, in the KHL the striker played for Atlant, Ak Bars, Spartak, Severstal, Dynamo Moscow, Sochi, Torpedo , “Neftekhimik” and Riga “Dynamo”.
As part of the Russian national team, the striker became a two-time world champion.
