“Now I would refuse to move to Russia, I wouldn’t want to be associated with it” – ex-KHL player
Former Jokerit defender Ossi Väänänen said he regretted his performance in the KHL.
“I am ashamed of myself for how naive we were. Current events really touched me. I don’t understand what kind of bubble we lived in.
I try to study as many sources of information as possible, do not rely on just one. All this shocks me. I can say that now I would refuse to move to Russia, I didn’t want to be associated with it, ”Yle quotes Väänänen.
Väänänen retired in 2016. As part of the Finnish national team, he won a full set of World Cup medals, silver at the KM-2004 and bronze at the 2014 Olympics.
