Dynamo Moscow defender Kirill Gotovets compared pre-season training in the capital club and Avangard Omsk.

– Of course, the training is different. Hartley basically had everything on the ice. Basically, the conditions were laid on the site, and the hall was larger to keep in shape, in order to minimize injuries during the season. Dynamo spent two weeks in this format: in the morning we came to the stadium, where there were races and a town, and in the evening we went out on the ice. So the differences are really big.

It’s hard for me to say yet, because Alexey Nikolayevich became my first Russian coach. Previously, I only worked with North Americans, so I’m more used to those trainings. And only at the end of the season it will be possible to judge whether the workload at Dynamo was reduced or not.

As for Hartley, indeed, during the first months of the season, we continued intensive preparation, because cups are not won in September and you need to be ready specifically in the playoffs in order to go through it without a breakdown. And in the second half of the championship, I can’t say that he drove us wildly. When Bob felt that the team was already tired, he could give an extra day off. And those guys who played a lot, they could have training if they wanted, – the Championship quotes Gotovets.

Gotovets moved to Dynamo in May from Avangard. The Belarusian defender in the Omsk club won the Gagarin Cup in 2021.
