Sochi Hockey Open – 2022 Stavok League is open!
On Wednesday, August 3, before the afternoon match between SKA and Dynamo Minsk, the opening of the seventh pre-season tournament Sochi Hockey Open – 2022 was held at the Shayba Arena. Numerous fans gathered in the stands witnessed a colorful multimedia show, which reflected significant moments in the recent history of Russian hockey, as well as vivid episodes of the game of teams participating in the traditional tournament.
The opening ceremony was attended by three-time Olympic champion, President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretiak, President of the betting company “Liga Stavok” Yuri Krasovsky and General Director of ANO “Sports Cluster” Yevgeny Meites. The ceremony participants warmly welcomed the players, coaches, spectators and journalists to the hospitable Sirius Federal Territory, thanked the fans for their great attention to the traditional Sochi tournament and wished the teams to successfully prepare for the next KHL championship starting in September.
Vladislav Tretiak, Yuri Krasovsky and Evgeny Meites then, together with the captains of SKA and Dynamo – Marat Khusnutdinov and Denis Mosalev – took part in the symbolic face-off ceremony.
Six teams are taking part in the Sochi Hockey Open 2022 Stakes League this year: HC Sochi, Avangard (Omsk Region), SKA (St. Petersburg), the Russian U25 team, Dynamo (Minsk) and “Admiral” (Vladivostok). Teams will play in one round each with each, the winner of the tournament will be known on August 9.
