Ferrari in yellow for the Monza celebrations
Ferrari will compete in its traditional yellow livery on large parts of the F1-75 car at this three-day Italian GP in its hometown of Monza – as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Milan circuit.
The Scuderia have suffered a slump in the last three F1 races and it will be worse at Monza on this three-day day (9-11/9) – as the Italian circuit is particularly well-suited to the Red Bull RB18. But that doesn’t stop the Maranello team from celebrating the 100th anniversary of the legendary circuit in the heart of the park north of Milan.
At this celebration, she will be involved in her car’s yellow and black color scheme, which refers to the base colors chosen by Enzo Ferrari for the company’s Cavallino emblem 75 years ago. Back then, Ferrari was a racing team, running Alfa Romeo cars in interwar GPs.
The iconic red color later established among Ferraris arose from the decision of the International Federation of Recognized Automobile Clubs at the time that the color that all Italian racing cars will wear must be red. While red should be associated with the group, yellow is the color of their birth. And it was adopted by the legendary Enzo because it was also the color of Modena, the team’s homeland.
The first time a Ferrari racing car with the yellow and black badge appeared was in the team’s two Alfa Romeos at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in 1932. It brought good luck as its drivers Antonio Brivio and Eugenio Sienna won this race. Since then, every racing Ferrari has worn this badge.
Going back to 2022 and the Monza GP, the yellow – and partly black – paintwork can be found on the F1-75’s engine cover and outer surfaces of the rear wing. The same wing also bears the company name in its traditional yellow script, while the driver numbers and some parts of the protective cockpit halo are also yellow.
Furthermore, the uniforms of the two drivers – Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz – appear to be exclusively yellow and black, with the emblem of the Italian company’s 75 years, while yellow color accents will also adorn their helmets.
The Scuderia also adopted an anniversary livery at their 1000th GP at Mugello in 2020. She had painted her cars a burgundy matte color at the time, referring to the color of Ferrari’s cars in the team’s first year in Formula One. in 1950.
